Vance says Israel willing to limit Lebanon strikes to back U.S.-Iran deal
09.04.2026 08:59

U.S. Vice President JD Vance said Israel had indicated it was prepared to limit its strikes in Lebanon to avoid undermining ongoing negotiations between Washington and Tehran.

“The Israelis, as I understand it, have effectively offered to show some restraint in Lebanon because they want to ensure our negotiations succeed,” Vance told reporters ahead of departing Budapest.

His comments come amid continued U.S. diplomatic efforts to reach an agreement with Iran and ongoing tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border.
