Azerbaijan-Russia trade exceeds $4.9 billion in 2025 — deputy PM
Trade between Azerbaijan and Russia exceeded $4.9 billion in 2025, marking growth from the previous year, Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev said.
Mutual trade totalled about $750 million in the first three months of 2026, he added.
Mustafayev said Russia remains one of Azerbaijan’s key trading partners and plays an important role in its foreign trade.
Azerbaijan’s agricultural exports to Russia exceeded $837 million in 2025, with fruit and vegetable shipments rising nearly 31% to $696 million. Imports of agricultural goods from Russia totalled more than $832 million.
“Accumulated Russian investment in Azerbaijan’s economy reached $10.7 billion, including $2.9 billion in the non-oil sector. Azerbaijani investment in Russia stands at about $1.2 billion,” Mustafayev said.
As of April 1, 2026, more than 2,100 companies with Russian capital were registered in Azerbaijan, over 1,400 of which are active.
He added that around 26,000 tonnes of cargo, mainly wheat and fertilisers, have been transported from Russia to Armenia via Azerbaijan in transit.
