Azerbaijan’s domestic public debt falls by 1.3 billion manats
Azerbaijan’s domestic public debt stood at 16.49 billion manats as of April 1, 2026, or 12.6% of projected GDP for the year, the Finance Ministry said.
The figure was down 1.31 billion manats from Jan. 1, 2026.
Of the total domestic public debt, 7.70 billion manats accounted for outstanding government securities, making up 45.6% of domestic debt, compared with 39% at the start of 2026.
Another 8.80 billion manats came from government-guaranteed obligations assumed by the government.
In the first quarter of 2026, the state budget made 1.31 billion manats in principal payments on government bonds issued in previous years, as well as 132.5 million manats in interest and discount payments.
