AZAL sends 36 young pilots for training in Spain
Azerbaijan Airlines has sent 36 graduates of the National Aviation Academy to Lleida, Spain, for an 18-month training programme, the airline’s press service said.
The training will be held at Baltic Aviation Academy and will include theoretical and practical instruction under European Union Aviation Safety Agency standards.
After completing the programme, the graduates will receive an international EASA certificate and then undergo Airbus A320 type-rating training in Lithuania.
The pilots will return to Azerbaijan after completing all stages of training and start work at AZAL as co-pilots.
The airline said the programme is part of its long-term strategy to expand its fleet from 25 to 50 aircraft by 2032 and at least double the number of pilots.
