IMF sharply raises forecast for Azerbaijani gas prices
The International Monetary Fund has sharply raised its forecast for the average export price of Azerbaijani natural gas in 2026.
The IMF increased its forecast for Azerbaijani gas exports to $521.9 per 1,000 cubic metres, up from $380.4. The revision amounts to an increase of $141.5, or 37.2%.
The Fund also raised its 2027 forecast to $424.3 from $326.5 per 1,000 cubic metres, and its 2028 forecast to $312.1 from $287.1.
For 2029, 2030 and 2031, the IMF kept its forecast at $312.1 per 1,000 cubic metres. The Fund said higher global oil and gas prices amid the war in the Middle East were supporting Azerbaijan’s external position and state budget revenues.
