Direct flights between Bratislava and Baku will be launched in October 2026, Slovak National Council Chairman Richard Rasi said.

He made the announcement in a joint press statement with Azerbaijani parliament speaker Sahiba Gafarova.

Gafarova said the launch of direct flights would further expand cooperation potential between Azerbaijan and Slovakia.

Rasi said a special tourism bureau would be created to support the process. He said the bureau would make Baku more attractive to Slovak tourists and also increase interest in Bratislava among tourists and businesspeople from Baku.
