Seven Azerbaijanis killed in car crash in Georgia
Seven Azerbaijanis were killed in a serious road accident in Georgia’s Gardabani district.
According to the agency, a BMW travelling at high speed crashed into a tree.
Five people in the vehicle died at the scene, while another passenger later died in hospital after being admitted in critical condition. Local media later reported that a seventh Azerbaijani involved in the crash had also died in hospital.
Two of the victims were brothers from the village of Birlik, while the others were from the Sagarejo region.
Georgia’s Interior Ministry has launched an investigation into the accident.
The Gardabani district is one of the main areas populated by ethnic Azerbaijanis in Georgia.
