Bulgaria is interested in increasing supplies of Azerbaijani gas to Europe through the Greece-Bulgaria interconnector, Bulgarian Vice President Iliana Yotova said.

She said the Solidarity Ring project, proposed by Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, had significant potential and could allow Azerbaijan to double its gas exports to the European Union.

Yotova also stressed the importance of cooperation between Baku and Sofia in green energy and noted SOCAR’s participation in gasification projects in Bulgaria.
