Azerbaijan-Georgia railway route currently on agenda
The opening of the Azerbaijan-Georgia railway route is currently on the agenda, Hikmet Hajiyev, assistant to the Azerbaijani president and head of the foreign policy department of the Presidential Administration, said.
He was responding to an Anews.az question on whether the reopening of railway links with Russia was being discussed.
“The opening of the Azerbaijan-Georgia train route is currently on the agenda, while other issues may be considered in the future,” Hajiyev said.
Railway service between Azerbaijan and Georgia is expected to resume on May 26 after a six-year break. The minimum one-way fare is set at 81 manats.
