American actor James Handy killed in Los Angeles
American actor James Handy, known for his roles in Top Gun: Maverick, Jumanji and Logan, has died at the age of 81 after a fatal stabbing in Los Angeles.
Police said Handy was found with stab wounds outside his home in the Tarzana neighborhood and was later pronounced dead at a hospital. Authorities arrested 44-year-old Michael Gledhill, the son of Handy’s girlfriend, who allegedly confessed to the killing.
Investigators said the motive remains unclear. Gledhill has been booked on suspicion of murder and is being held on $2 million bail.
Handy appeared in nearly 150 film and television productions during a career spanning decades, including roles in “Alias,” “The West Wing” and “NYPD Blue.”
