Natural gas prices rise on NYMEX

Natural gas futures prices rose on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), with July contracts gaining 3.8% to $3.352 per million British thermal units (MMBtu).

The increase was supported by forecasts of hotter weather in the United States, which could boost electricity demand for air conditioning, as well as lower-than-expected growth in natural gas inventories.
