Azerbaijan targets $1 billion in annual ICT exports
Azerbaijan aims to increase annual exports of information and communication technology (ICT) products and services to $1 billion from the current $25 million, Farid Osmanli, chairman of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, said.
The target is part of the country’s 2026-2030 action plan to accelerate digital development, approved on Feb. 27, Osmanli said.
He said Azerbaijan also planned to double the size of its ICT sector from the current $2.5 billion and strengthen its position as a regional digital hub.
According to Osmanli, the strategy focuses on expanding digitalisation, artificial intelligence, innovation and cybersecurity.
He added that the My.gov digital platform would play a central role in the process, with its user base almost tripling over the past year to more than 1.7 million, while the number of services available through the platform increased elevenfold.
Osmanli also said Azerbaijan was close to finalising a broad cooperation package with international financial institutions and planned to introduce new support mechanisms for startups, venture funds and technology parks.
