OPEC reports decline in oil exports through BTC pipeline
12.06.2026 10:30

Oil exports through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline declined in April, OPEC said in its latest Monthly Oil Market Report.

According to OPEC, average daily exports through BTC fell by 47,000 barrels per day, or around 8%, compared with March, to 541,000 barrels per day.

On an annual basis, shipments through the pipeline were down by 64,000 barrels per day, or about 11%, compared with April 2025.

The BTC pipeline is one of the main export routes for Caspian crude, carrying oil from Azerbaijan through Georgia to Turkey’s Mediterranean port of Ceyhan.

OPEC said overall crude exports from Russia and Central Asian countries remained broadly stable in April at around 6.6 million barrels per day, rising by only 26,000 barrels per day from the previous month.

Lower shipments through Novorossiysk were largely offset by higher exports through Baltic ports and the Druzhba pipeline.

Crude exports through the Transneft system stood at nearly 3.8 million barrels per day in April, broadly unchanged from March, but down 127,000 barrels per day year-on-year.

Shipments through Novorossiysk fell by 184,000 barrels per day, or 28%, to 475,000 barrels per day. Exports through Russia’s Baltic ports rose by 125,000 barrels per day, reaching almost 1.6 million barrels per day.

Supplies through the Druzhba pipeline more than doubled, supported by renewed exports to Hungary and Slovakia and stable deliveries of Kazakh oil to Germany. Despite the increase to 106,000 barrels per day, the figure remained 61% below the level recorded in April 2025.
