Turkish company Europower Enerji A.Ş. has signed an agreement with Azerbaijan’s Clean Energy Jabrayil LLC to build a 60-megawatt solar power plant in the Jabrayil district.

The project will be implemented on a turnkey basis and is expected to become one of the key green energy projects in the Karabakh region, the company said.

“Our equipment and the construction of the solar plant will help provide green energy to the brotherly nation,” Europower Enerji said in a statement.

The project comes as Azerbaijan accelerates the development of renewable energy, with several new solar and wind power plants scheduled to come on stream over the next few years.
