Parliament approves major Customs Code amendments

Azerbaijan’s parliament approved a package of amendments to the Customs Code aimed at expanding customs incentives, improving control procedures and introducing new mechanisms for regulating foreign trade. 

The changes include additional preferences for residents of free economic zones, clarification of customs authorities’ powers and further digitalisation of customs procedures. The amendments are designed to facilitate trade operations, increase transparency and improve the investment climate.
