Azerbaijan will provide internet traffic transit services for Armenia under an agreement between telecommunications operators of the two countries, Vesti.az reported.

The project is expected to diversify Armenia’s data transmission routes and strengthen the resilience of regional telecommunications infrastructure.

The new transit route will make use of Azerbaijan’s existing network infrastructure as the country seeks to expand its role as a regional digital and transport hub.

No details were provided on the timeline for the launch of the service or the technical parameters of the project.
