Azerbaijan’s central bank to announce new rate decision

The Central Bank of Azerbaijan will announce its latest decision on the refinancing rate and interest rate corridor on Wednesday.

The benchmark rate currently stands at 6.5%, while the lower and upper bounds of the interest rate corridor are set at 5.5% and 7.5%, respectively. The central bank left the rate unchanged at its previous meeting in May. 

The regulator cut the refinancing rate by 25 basis points to 6.5% in February as inflationary pressures eased. 

The decision is expected to take into account inflation trends, macroeconomic indicators and developments in financial markets.
