Azerbaijan has extended the special quarantine regime introduced to curb the spread of COVID-19 until Oct. 1, 2026, according to a government decree.

Prime Minister Ali Asadov signed the decision extending the restrictions until 0600 local time on Oct. 1.

The government said the measure was aimed at preventing the spread of the coronavirus and mitigating its possible consequences in the country.

Azerbaijan has repeatedly prolonged the special quarantine regime since it was first introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic.
