Azerbaijan banking sector net profit rises more than 29%

Azerbaijan’s banking sector posted a net profit of 557.1 million manats ($327.7 million) in January-May 2026, up 29.35% from the same period a year earlier, central bank data showed. (

Banks’ operating income totalled 3.044 billion manats in the first five months of the year, up 12.7% year on year, while operating expenses rose 27.3% to 2.173 billion manats.

Allocations to special reserves fell 9.7% to 179.5 million manats, while profit tax payments increased 23.6% to 134.7 million manats.
