More than 104,000 teachers take part in certification in Azerbaijan

A total of 104,435 teachers have participated in Azerbaijan’s teacher certification process since its introduction, Education Minister Emin Amrullayev said.

The certification programme is aimed at assessing teachers’ professional skills and improving the quality of education, the minister said.

More than 23,000 teachers are taking part in the 2026 certification round, which for the first time includes teachers of history, technology, music, art and physical education. 

Teachers who successfully pass certification are eligible for salary increases, according to previous official statements.
