TANAP has transported nearly 100 bcm of Azerbaijani gas
The Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) has transported a total of 99.6 billion cubic metres of Azerbaijani gas since it began operations, Azerbaijan’s Energy Ministry said.
Of the total volume, 39.6 bcm was supplied to Turkey, the ministry said.
The ministry noted that Tuesday marks the eighth anniversary of the start of commercial gas deliveries from Azerbaijan to Turkey via TANAP under the Shah Deniz 2 project.
TANAP is a key part of the Southern Gas Corridor and plays an important role in regional energy security by transporting Azerbaijani gas to Turkey and onward to European markets.
The pipeline is linked to the South Caucasus Pipeline and the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), which carries gas to European consumers.
