Azerbaijan to improve efficiency of healthcare spending, minister says

Azerbaijan aims to improve the efficiency of healthcare spending over the long term, Finance Minister Sahil Babayev said.

The minister said efforts would continue to ensure more efficient use of budget resources and improve the quality of healthcare services.

Strengthening the financial sustainability of the healthcare system, improving resource allocation and developing mandatory health insurance mechanisms remain among the government’s priorities, he said.

Healthcare spending in Azerbaijan has increased in recent years as the government continues to expand funding for the sector.
