German-Azerbaijani infrastructure conference to be held in Baku

A German-Azerbaijani conference on transport and communications infrastructure will be held in Baku on October 6, the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce said. 

The event will be held under the theme “Mobilising financing for infrastructure, transport, logistics, green energy and digitalisation along the Middle Corridor”.

The conference aims to deepen bilateral and regional economic cooperation and attract German and European financing, technology and expertise to support sustainable development in Azerbaijan and the wider region.

The forum is expected to bring together government representatives, international financial institutions, investors, project owners and company executives from Germany, Azerbaijan and other partner countries.

Participants will discuss investment opportunities and financing mechanisms for strategic projects in transport infrastructure, logistics, the energy transition and digital connectivity along the Middle Corridor.

Organisers said the development of the Middle Corridor had been under way for about 12 years, but the most intensive work to expand it had taken place over the past four to five years amid shifts in global geopolitics.
