Explosions reported in Iran’s Bushehr as Tehran says it struck U.S. bases
Explosions were heard in Iran’s southern Bushehr province, state-affiliated Mehr news agency reported.
No details of the incident have been disclosed. The report came after the United States launched a new round of strikes on Iran, saying it had hit more than 80 targets in response to attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran said it retaliated by targeting U.S. military facilities in the region. Al Jazeera reported that Tehran said it had struck 85 military installations in Bahrain and Kuwait. AP also reported that Iran launched missile strikes on U.S. military facilities in those countries.
Air raid sirens sounded in Bahrain and Kuwait amid the escalation, while regional air defences were activated.
