ING says Azerbaijan may keep interest rate at 6.5% for years

Dutch financial group ING expects the Central Bank of Azerbaijan to keep its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 6.5% throughout 2026 and 2027, according to its latest forecast. 

ING forecasts that the central bank could cut the policy rate by 50 basis points to 6.0% in 2028. 

The outlook follows the central bank’s June 24 decision to leave the benchmark rate unchanged at 6.5%. The next monetary policy meeting is scheduled for July 31.
