Brent crude oil price exceeds $96 per barrel

The price of Brent crude oil has risen above $96 per barrel, according to trading data from the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE).

September Brent crude futures increased by $2.08, or 2.21%, to $96.15 per barrel.

September futures for U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude rose by $1.51, or 1.74%, to $88.34 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Oil prices climbed amid renewed geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and concerns about possible supply disruptions.
