SOFAZ halts gold sales in first half

The State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) did not sell any gold in the first half of 2026 after reducing its holdings by about 22 tonnes in the first quarter as part of a portfolio rebalancing.

As of July 1, SOFAZ’s gold holdings remained unchanged at 178.1 tonnes, accounting for about 35.6% of the fund’s investment portfolio.
