Azerbaijan sees 4.5-fold surge in crude oil exports to Bulgaria
In January–June 2026, Azerbaijan exported 358,843 tons of crude oil to Bulgaria, valued at just over $253.1 million, anews informs, citing the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.
According to the latest data, the exports grew by 4.5 times in volume and rose by 5.2 times in value compared to the first half of 2025.
During the reporting period, Bulgaria accounted for 3.54% of Azerbaijan's total oil exports.
According to the customs declarations, Azerbaijan exported approximately 10.125 million tons of crude oil and petroleum products obtained from bituminous rocks, valued at just over $6.231 billion in the first six months of 2026.
Overall, Azerbaijan conducted foreign trade operations worth $24.661 billion during the January–June period, representing a 1.1% increase year-on-year. Of this, $16.320 billion came from exports and $8.341 billion from imports. Year‑on‑year, exports rose by 26.7%, while imports dropped by 27.6%.
