Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan discuss development of Middle Corridor

Azerbaijan’s Digital Development and Transport Minister Rashad Nabiyev met in Baku with Kazakhstan’s Transport Minister Nurlan Sauranbayev, Samruk-Kazyna chief Nurlan Zhakupov and Kazakhstan Railways chairman Elyas Otynshiyev.

The sides discussed expanding cooperation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, including investment in ferry vessels and increasing road freight volumes.

They also reviewed a project to lay a subsea fibre-optic cable across the Caspian Sea, a draft agreement on the development of the Middle Corridor and efforts to digitalise the route.
