Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis Says He Uses SOCAR Gas Stations in Switzerland

Gas stations operated by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) are well-known and widely popular across Switzerland.

The statement was made by Swiss Foreign Minister and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Ignazio Cassis during a joint press conference with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in Baku.

Cassis shared that he frequently uses SOCAR stations when driving:

"SOCAR is a well-known company in Switzerland. When I am driving myself, I sometimes use its gas stations, as they are among the most prevalent in several regions of the country. Switzerland hosts fuel retail networks from companies all around the world," the minister noted.

However, Cassis highlighted that Switzerland remains committed to its long-term transition toward future energy systems, which involves a gradual phase-out of fossil fuels and oil.
