Azerbaijani blogger 'By Ella' detained at airport

Social media influencer Lala Mammadova, widely known online as "By Ella," has been detained at the airport and formally remanded in custody, Unikal.az reported.

Mammadova was charged under Article 206.2 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, which penalizes the illicit smuggling of narcotic substances concealed from customs control. Following a hearing at the Sabayil District Court, the judge granted the prosecution's motion and ordered Mammadova held under pre-trial detention for a period of three months.
