Life expectancy at birth in Azerbaijan rises by nearly four years over five years

Life expectancy at birth in Azerbaijan increased by 3.8 years for boys and 3.9 years for girls over the past five years, according to a report by the State Statistics Committee.

Life expectancy at birth for boys rose from 71.1 years in 2021 to 74.9 years in 2025.

For girls, life expectancy at birth increased from 75.4 years in 2021 to 79.3 years in 2025.

In 2022, the figure stood at 73.6 years for boys and 78.4 years for girls. In 2023, it was 73.5 and 78.4 years respectively, while in 2024 it increased to 74.5 years for boys and 79.2 years for girls.

In 2025, life expectancy at birth for girls was 4.4 years higher than for boys.

For boys who reached the age of 15 in 2025, remaining life expectancy was 61.4 years, compared with 65.7 years for girls of the same age.
