Azerbaijan Introduces Specific Tax Code for Digital Influencers and Bloggers

Azerbaijan’s State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy has created a designated classification for content creators, introducing the "Digital Platform Influencer" category into the national register of economic activities.

The measure responds to the expanding monetization of social media and digital platforms, where creators generate revenue through advertising, promotional marketing, sponsored content, and live-streaming sessions.

The newly assigned activity code (6312003) is designed to streamline tax transparency, establish segregated statistical tracking for bloggers and creators, and formalize online revenue streams. Tax authorities have advised active industry participants to register their commercial activities under the new classification to ensure full legal compliance.
