03.09.2026 14:30

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into former Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu over allegations of insulting the president.

The inquiry stems from remarks made by Davutoglu on April 14, 2022. The case was opened after recordings of the statements resurfaced and circulated widely across social networks years later.

Davutoglu had officially announced the end of his political career on July 29, 2026.
