Crypto markets post mixed performance as Bitcoin edges past $77,000
Major digital assets exhibited mixed trading performance over the past 24 hours across global cryptocurrency platforms. Data from CoinMarketCap indicates that Bitcoin gained 0.17% on the day, rising to $77,682.59.
Conversely, Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market value, dipped 0.50% to $2,499.18. Alternative tokens saw varied price action: Zcash advanced 2.56% to $1,141.18, whereas BNB eased 0.18% to $720.97 and Monero slipped 2.15% to $513.61. Downward pressure also extended to Bittensor (-1.93%) and Bitcoin Cash (-0.76%). Gold-pegged tokens registered mild declines, with PAX Gold (PAXG) slipping 0.67% to $4,305.35 and Tether Gold (XAUT) dropping 0.63% to $4,302.53.
The CoinMarketCap 20 Index advanced 0.26% to 160.93 points, with Bitcoin's standalone market capitalization holding near $1.56 trillion. Market analysts attribute the range-bound trading to investor caution ahead of the US Federal Reserve's upcoming interest rate decision, shifting global risk sentiment, and evolving geopolitical conditions.
