UAE's XRG completes acquisition of equity stake in Southern Gas Corridor
XRG, the international energy investment arm of the United Arab Emirates' ADNOC, has finalized the acquisition of an equity stake in Southern Gas Corridor CJSC, the company announced in an official statement.
The investment in the 3,500-kilometer infrastructure network connecting the Caspian Basin to Southern Europe supports XRG's integrated regional strategy linking upstream assets across Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. The deal aims to enhance supply reliability, foster regional economic development, and generate long-term value. The transaction follows a preliminary non-binding Heads of Terms agreement signed with Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economy on November 3, 2025, during the ADIPEC conference in Abu Dhabi. Established in 2014, Southern Gas Corridor CJSC holds key upstream interests and pipeline ownership across the corridor, which maintains an annual transport capacity of up to 26 billion cubic meters through Turkey to European markets.
