Azerbaijan plans to cut media spending by 13% in 2027
Azerbaijan plans to allocate 68.5 million manats for two media and information programmes in 2027, according to preliminary state and consolidated budget figures published by the Finance Ministry.
The amount is 10.2 million manats, or 13%, lower than the 78.7 million manats allocated in the 2026 state budget for television, radio and publishing activities.
In 2025, Azerbaijan allocated a total of 65.1 million manats from the state budget for television and radio broadcasting.
Total state budget expenditure for 2027 is forecast at 42.4 billion manats, meaning planned spending on the media and information sector would account for around 0.16% of total expenditure.
