Nakhchivan athlete arrested on fraud charges

A well-known athlete in Nakhchivan has been arrested on fraud charges.

That Emrah Nagiyev was detained by police after allegedly deceiving several people by promising to help their children successfully pass various sports qualification tests.

An investigation found that he had used the same method to defraud different citizens of nearly AZN 10,000 in total.

A criminal case has been launched by the Investigation and Inquiry Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. A court has ordered that the accused be remanded in custody.

It should be noted that Emrah Nagiyev has represented Azerbaijan at a number of local and international competitions.
