Minister prioritizes high-yield farm exports
Azerbaijan will prioritize high-value, export-oriented farm produce and essential commodities bolstering food security to increase farmers' income while transitioning to resource-efficient agriculture, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov announced.
Citing expanding greenhouse and covered cultivation clusters in Jalilabad and Shamkir, alongside successful open-bed pepper cultivation projects in Saatly, the minister emphasized that higher-margin crops will receive enhanced state backing in parallel with strategic domestic grain output.
Mammadov underscored that long-term production and export targets for crops, livestock, and aquaculture are clearly outlined in the state program. According to the minister, subsidy policies and incentive structures deployed by the Agricultural Subsidy Council are specifically calibrated to de-risk private investment and channel commercial capital into high-productivity agricultural ventures across the regions.
