Pashinyan Announces Forthcoming Draft Constitution, Does Not Rule Out Early Elections
Armenia is set to publish a draft of its new constitution in the near future, initiating public consultations before submitting the document to parliament, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told domestic media outlets. Pashinyan emphasized that adopting a revamped constitutional framework is fundamentally essential to ensuring the preservation of the Armenian state.
The prime minister indicated that the government will endeavor to persuade the opposition of the reform's critical importance. However, he warned that if consensus is not reached, authorities will consider alternative paths, including the possibility of calling snap parliamentary elections.
