Facebook deprives Armenian separatists' page of official status

Facebook deprives Armenian separatists' page of official status
29.05.2020 06:34
Facebook has changed its decision.

The Facebook social network  has corrected its mistake connected with the so-called "Nagorno-Karabakh Republic government" page.

According to News.Az, the so-called "Nagorno-Karabakh Republic government" page opened by Armenian separatists was deprived of official status.

Currently this page acts as one of the regular pages.

Only real personalities and structures recognized by all can get the official Facebook status. When the Facebook social network verified the page of the so-called "Nagorno-Karabakh Republic government", which is not recognized by anyone, even by Armenia, it caused Azerbaijan's protests.

Azerbaijan expressed its position on this issue and gave instructions to embassies and consulates of our country in the United States, while diaspora organizations and civil society have tried to be active in this matter.

In order to prevent numerous complaints, Armenians blocked Azerbaijan's access to this page, but as a result the Facebook management assessed the matter objectively and deprived this page of the official status.
