Security measures tightened in Yerevan metro
24.08.2022 17:00
In recent days, in connection with false alarms about the explosive devices allegedly laid at the metro stations of the capital of Armenia, Yerevan, the police have been intensively on duty, reported from the local press.

In addition to police officers, preventive measures in the subway are also carried out by employees of the country's national security agencies.

It is noted that such measures are considered necessary, especially after the recent false alarms about the laying of explosive devices at metro stations.

"National security agencies are constantly taking preventive actions. As part of these actions, an announcement in three languages is planned in the Yerevan metro. Thus, in the stations and in the train cars, they will increase the level of passengers' vigilance," Tatev Khachatryan, spokesperson for the metro, said.
