The US is ready to discuss the easing of sanctions against Russia after the withdrawal of its troops from Ukraine, US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland said in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
If the Russians leave, there could be some easing of sanctions, Nuland noted. But the US must also be ready to return these sanctions, reapply them if Putin returns or threatens to return, she said.
She added that Ukraine can ask for international peacekeepers to monitor the agreement on the withdrawal of troops and ensure security along the borders.
Therefore, the US is open to talking about any things to ensure that when Ukraine wins this war, this will never happen again, Nuland added.
