NATO is following the situation in South Korea, which is an important partner of the alliance, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated ahead of the meeting of NATO Foreign Affairs Ministers in Brussels.

"South Korea is our important partner. We are closely following the situation, but I will not comment on this matter at the moment," Rutte noted.

Six opposition parties in the Republic of Korea have put forward a proposal regarding the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol.
