Iran’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations has declined to comment on U.S. President Donald Trump’s claim that Tehran “very much” wants to reach a deal with Washington.

“We do not comment on this,” the mission told TASS in response to a request for clarification.

Earlier, speaking to reporters ahead of talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the White House, Trump said Iran was eager to strike an agreement and that he was “absolutely open” to the idea, adding that the sides were “beginning the process.”
