Iran is prepared to grant international inspectors access to its nuclear facilities to demonstrate that its nuclear programme has no military component, President Masoud Pezeshkian said.

According to the Financial Times, Pezeshkian reiterated that Tehran has no intention of developing nuclear weapons.

“We have repeatedly stated that we are not seeking nuclear weapons. We are ready for any inspections,” he said.

Earlier, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi said inspectors had been waiting for several months for permission to access facilities in Natanz, Fordow and Isfahan.

Iran has cited the need for specific measures and protocols, but Grossi described the justifications as essentially political in nature.

Talks between Iran and the United States were held in Oman on Feb. 6. U.S. President Donald Trump described the discussions as successful and said dialogue would continue.
