White House denies U.S. role in Iran school strike
The White House rejected allegations that the U.S. military was responsible for a strike on a girls’ school in Iran’s Minab district.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, responding to a question about a Sky News investigation, said the U.S. military did not deliberately target civilians or children.
Leavitt said she was not familiar with the broadcaster’s report and referred further questions to the Pentagon, which is investigating the strike.
U.S. President Donald Trump had earlier questioned evidence linking American forces to the attack.
U.S. military investigators believe American forces were likely responsible, but have not reached a final conclusion, Reuters previously reported.
