CSTO summit on Nov 11 may discuss stripping Armenia of voting rights over unpaid dues

Stripping Armenia of its voting rights within the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) may be discussed during the bloc's summit scheduled for November 11, according to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin.

Galuzin noted that decisions regarding potential restrictions on member states fall entirely within the prerogative of the Collective Security Council. He emphasized that the CSTO Charter is a binding international treaty requiring good-faith execution by all signatories, including each member country's obligation to finance the organization's operations.

"Yerevan's refusal to participate in the organization's work and its non-signing of annual budget decisions merely mean the non-exercise of its rights, but do not terminate Armenia's obligations to timely transfer its national contributions," the diplomat stated.
