Vocational College Teaching Staff in Azerbaijan Decreases to 6,352
The total number of full-time academic and teaching staff employed in state and private specialized secondary education institutions (colleges) in Azerbaijan fell by 0.3% (22 educators) year-on-year to 6,352 during the 2025/2026 academic year, the State Statistics Committee reported.
In the 2024/2025 academic year, the sector employed 6,374 teachers. The number of faculty members holding advanced academic degrees also dropped: Doctors of Sciences decreased from 11 to 9, while Doctors of Philosophy (PhDs) fell from 105 to 104, bringing the total number of degree holders from 116 down to 113. While the number of full professors remained steady at 10, associate professors decreased from 33 to 31.
Consequently, degree-holding educators accounted for only 1.8% of the total teaching workforce across Azerbaijan's specialized secondary institutions in the 2025/2026 academic year.
