Farewell Ceremony and Funeral for Norway's King Harald V Scheduled for September 9

The farewell ceremony and funeral for King Harald V of Norway will take place on September 9, the Royal Court of Norway announced, according to TASS.

"The farewell service for King Harald V will be held at Oslo Cathedral on Wednesday, September 9, at 13:00 local time," the Royal Court stated in a press release, adding that further details regarding the funeral procession and attendees will be released later.

The 89-year-old monarch was hospitalized on August 17 due to an infection accompanied by complications from hemolytic anemia. On August 27, the Royal Court confirmed that his condition had deteriorated critically. A member of the House of Glücksburg, King Harald V had reigned since 1991. The royal throne is inherited by his 53-year-old son, Crown Prince Haakon.
